Blaze groaned in annoyance as his phone continued to vibrate. After the fifth vibrate, he was fed up. It was a Saturday morning, one in which he actually got to sleep in and his phone was going off every five minutes. It was really starting to tick him off. He only got to sleep in due to the fact that Cyrus stayed the night. After years of searching, Blaze finally found the loophole. If Cyrus stayed the night Friday night, then Blaze wouldn't have to take his morning strolls through Grandma's forest Saturday morning at 6:30 AM. It was beautiful. He never thought to have Cyrus stay over due to Blaze's crazy mother, but now he might have to have this situation occur more often.
Blaze opened his eyes on the sixth buzz. "Alright...you win, whoever you are..." He mumbled as he sat up slowly. He rubbed his eyes before he glanced to his side table. Cyrus was between him and his phone, which buzzed once more. Seven times now. He sighed and just decided his course of action. He had a full sized bed that was shoved into the upper right hand corner of his room, the furthest corner from the door. He had been sleeping between Cyrus and a wall. Now he was a bit stuck. It had made sense last night, he was the weak druid and Cyrus was the strong werewolf. It made sense to have the werewolf on the outer edge, just in case they got attacked. It made it easier for Cyrus to defend them. He shrugged and simply laid across Cyrus, reaching to his side table to grab his phone. He yawned as he typed in his passcode and looked at the eight text messages that his mother had sent in the last 30 minutes. He groaned again. "Seriously..." He whispered softly. He wasn't trying to wake Cyrus, but with the constant buzzing phone and Blaze now laying across him, who knew.
He glanced down at the werewolf that was now under him before he clicked his phone off. Blaze slowly climbed over Cyrus and managed to get out of the bed without falling or tripping or hurting himself in general. It was quite the accomplish. He did a quick 'huzzah' motion to the gods before he turned and walked out of the room, shutting the door softly behind him.
Blaze walked to the top of the stairs and crouched down, he could smell the muffins in the oven. He loved muffins. "What the hell do you want?" He called down the stairs to his mother whom he knew was in the kitchen making such lovely smelling deliciousness. "You could have woken Cyrus up!"
"And your screaming won't?" He could hear his mother call back, "Whatever. Since you aren't taking your normal hike today, you need to practice your shape shifting. And I mean it Blaze Porter. Or no muffins for you for a week, understand me?!"
Blaze groaned, "Mom! Cyrus is over, do I seriously have to practice druid magic?!" He didn't like practicing at all, but he had made a point not to do it around Cyrus. He just didn't feel comfortable attempting to shape shift around his werewolf.
"He knows you are a druid, it's fine. Just do as you are told, Blaze Porter!" His mother called back.
"But he doesn't even know that I can shape shift! Besides, I'm horrible at it!" Blaze complained with a hint of a whine to his tone.
"Well, it's a good time for him to learn since you are now dating him. Besides, maybe he can help you with your shape shifting! You have to practice eventually, Blaze. It's not something you can weasel your way out of. It's in your blood! Practice makes perfect!"
"Mom! I never said we were dating!" Blaze wasn't going to argue with his mother, she was right. An awkward moment in the boy's locker room at school somehow resulted in them expressing feelings and now they were in fact a couple, though Blaze was still wrapping his mind around that fact. He had actually never dated anyone before. Though, to Blaze, it felt like they had been dating for years instead of just a few weeks, probably due to their friendship prior. "I'm not denying it, I'm just saying I never told you." He sighed as he stood once more, "Crazy old hag, she knows everything, I swear..."
Blaze turned around and walked back to his room which was on the second floor toward the back of the house. He opened his door gently and shut it once more before he heaved a sigh. "I don't wanna practice stupid druid magic. It's boring and it ruins my day of no druid duties." He pushed away from his door and crawled back into bed, only after silencing his phone. "I swear, she enjoys torturing me sometimes..." He mumbled as he flopped back down, laying his head against Cyrus' side.
